Liberty
Liberty has been with with Gwaltney Dental for over 17 years as of 2021. When not working at Gwaltney Dental, she enjoys cooking and baking, even doing small catering jobs on the weekend. She has been married for 30 years and loves spending time with family and friends, especially her two children and her grand babies!
Colby
Colby has been a dental assistant for over 10 years as of 2021. Seeing how the field has changed over that time, and getting to explore all of the technological advances is one her favorite things about the job! She takes pride in her work and loves that she can help patients relax and feel comfortable during their dental visit.
Her job enables her to put patients as ease, having them leave with a smile on their face by being their comfort and support, especially to those that have real dental fears and concerns.
Colby grew up in Franklin, Va and in her free time she loves hanging out with her boyfriend, his daughter Riley, and their two spoiled dogs, Russell and Sadie! They are alway up for a new adventure, enjoy watching movies, and spending time with friends and family! Colby’s hobbies include gardening and anything outdoors!
Heather
Heather has lived in Hampton Roads her whole life, originally from Virginia Beach, she graduated in 2011 from the Virginia Beach Technical and Career Education Center as a Registered Dental Assistant.
Continuing her love for dentistry she is now practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist after obtaining her Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University in 2016. With years of experience in the dental field, she is very passionate about serving the community and improving not only oral hygiene but patients overall health with patient education. She takes pride in making others feel confident about their smile and improving their quality of life with expertise and compassion.
In her personal time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her Husband, Chris, and their two boys Wyatt and Waylon.
Ivonne
Ivonne has been a part of the Gwaltney Dental family for a few years now and has been a dental assistant for over 24. Working in the dental field is very rewarding to her because she loves helping people.
Originally born and raised in Germany, Ivonne moved to the United States in 2001. After living in a few different states she settled down in beautiful Virginia.
In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, and playing with her spunky cat named Spooky. She is also a very talented artist, creating various home decor pieces.
Shellie
Shellie has been with Gwaltney Dental for 15 years as of 2022. As a restorative assistant, she has tons of experience in various procedures. She enjoys all aspects of being in the dental field but her favorite is definitely the surgical side. She feels that it’s so rewarding seeing our patients achieve their confident smile.
In her spare time she enjoys being with her two beautiful daughters, spending time at the beach, and being with her fur baby, Memphis.
Evelyn
Evelyn was originally born in Ecuador, but spent most of her high school years in Connecticut before moving to Virginia. Evelyn graduated with an Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene from Goodwin University. What she loves about working as a dental hygienist is helping people feel happy about their smile and being able to educate patients about their oral health.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys doing sports, going to the beach, and kayaking.
Cheyanne
Cheyanne started her dental journey while still in high school. Since that time she has had the opportunity to learn all of the in’s and out’s of a dental office, including assisting the doctor. Those experiences resulted in Cheyanne falling in love with the field, which is why she knows dentistry is her past, present, and future.
When she’s not at the office you can find her with her dogs. She also loves crafting: including decorating shirts, cups and tons of other stuff!
Martha
Martha, an alumni from Old Dominion University, has been with Gwaltney Dental since her family returned to VA in 2022. She began her dental career in San Diego, CA as a Registered Dental Assistant; practicing in Orthodontics. She graduated summa cum laude from the Dental Hygiene Program at the College of Lake County in Illinois, and began practicing as a hygienist in both general and periodontal dentistry.
She is patient-focused and driven to ensure each patient receives personalized care that targets their needs, abilities, and lifestyle. Martha enjoys building relationships with her patients and educating them on the importance of their overall oral-systemic health.
Besides work and teaching religious education, Martha is heavily involved in raising her family. She is a dedicated military spouse and a mother of 2 amazing boys. Together they reside in Chesapeake, VA, where her husband is soon to retire from the Navy. In whatever spare time she may have, Martha enjoys music, gardening, volleyball, and the ocean.
Janessa
Janessa was born and raised in North Carolina, where she obtained her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Upon leaving NC, Janessa began practicing dental hygiene in the state of Ohio. She is now very happy to be providing care and brightening smiles here in Virginia. Some of her favorite aspects of being in dentistry include making sure patients feel at ease, helping them to feel confident about their smile, and making sure they are comfortable about discussing their oral and overall health.
In her spare time she enjoys staying active, going to the beach, spending time with her husband, their fur babies, and family. She’s excited to start a new chapter of her life as she soon becomes a first time mom. Welcoming her son coming the summer of 2024.
